Luis (and its variant forms) is the Spanish, Portuguese, Galician, Aragonese form of the Germanicgiven nameHludowig and Chlodovech (modern GermanLudwig). The Germanic name is composed of the words for "fame" (hlūd) and "warrior" (wīg) which may be translated to famous warrior or "famous in battle".
Luis is an American sitcom starring Luis Guzmán that aired on Fox from September to October 2003. Scheduled in the Friday night death slot, the series received low ratings and was canceled after five episodes. The series was the first show of the 2003-04 season to be canceled.
